Dear Parents/Carers,

Further to my letter confirming that the NEU (one of the largest teaching unions) had called for strike action on Wednesday, 1st February 2023, I am writing to inform you that FJS will be partially closed on that day.

Please note that planning for strike action is complicated by the fact that:

  • there is no requirement for a union to inform us which or how many members of staff will take strike action
  • and union members are under no obligation to inform employers of their union membership, or to inform employers in advance of their intention to strike.

However, teachers at FJS who are members of the NEU have informed me of their decisions in order for me to share that information with our school community.

The following classes will remain OPEN and 3KS's class assembly will still take place at 9:00am.

Year 3 - 3KS
Year 4 - 4L & 4H
Year 6 - 6C
