WOW! What an amazing amount of money!

Thank you so, so much for your generosity and enthusiasm for this week’s fundraising appeal. Soccer Star Coaching have been in school for the past two days running a sponsored event and today we can reveal that we have received a cheque for £4,788! In addition, lots of prizes (including a family pass for a tour of Wembley Stadium) have been won by pupils.

We are very aware that the rising prices of goods and services are having an impact on every family – so we are very appreciative! The money raised will enable us to continue subsidising trips and visits as we always try to minimise the cost to parents. For instance: the recent Victorian Day experience in Y6 involved a full day in school plus a coach trip to Styal, entry to Quarry Bank Mill and the hire of Victorian artefacts. Due to recent price rises this should have cost around £20 per pupil but we asked for a voluntary contribution of £15.

Similarly, we have used school funds to reduce the cost of Ambleside and visits to Liverpool Museum. Just before Christmas we had a performance of ‘A Christmas Carol’ and a theatre company will be performing ‘Romeo and Juliet’ on the 21st March. To commemorate the King’s Coronation in May every child will be taking part in ‘Happy and Glorious’ history workshops – all of these experiences have been paid for through fundraising events and today’s cheque will ensure that continues to be the case.

Thank you!
