'We're Forefield!'
(The Lockdown Song)

Mrs Pimblett and Mr Parry have written new words to the song 'Try Everything', from the Disney film 'Zootopia', and would like as many children as possible to join in with them. Here's what to do:

  1. Listen to the song while reading the lyrics. It's also a good idea to have it playing in the background while you're doing other things. Before long you'll find yourself singing along.
  2. When you are familiar with the song, record yourself singing it using a voice/sound recording app, such as Voice Memos (iPhone) or Voice Recorder (Android/Windows). It will work best if you listen the tune using headphones while you sing, so that only your voice will be on the recording.
  3. Email the recording to , along with a photograph of yourself doing something you have enjoyed during lockdown. Remember to include your full name and class. The closing date for submissions is Friday 22nd May.
  4. During what would normally be half-term, the recordings will be combined to create a virtual choir. This will be used to accompany a video made from the photographs you send in.

We are very excited about this project and can’t wait to hear what the children’s voices will sound like together again whilst we are apart. We hope that lots of our children will feel motivated to take part to make some amazing music!

Please note: The video will be published on our website. By submitting recordings and photographs, you are agreeing to us publishing them in this way.

Letter to Parents from Mrs Pimblett and Mr Parry

We're Forefield! (The Lockdown Song)
To the tune of 'Try Everything' as sung by Shakira

Oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh

We’ve been closed down, have to stay at home,
Waiting for the world to start again,
But while we wait, we could bake some cakes,
Until the government tells us what’s next.

Coming together by keeping apart,
Finding new patience until a new start.

We won’t give up, no we won’t give in,
Until we can see our friends again,
We’ll keep apart, follow a two-metre rule,
Until we are all back at school.

We won’t give up, no we won’t give in,
Until we can see our friends again,
We’ll keep apart, follow a two-metre rule,
Until we are all back at school.

Oh oh oh oh oh we’re Forefield,
Oh oh oh oh oh we’re Forefield,
Oh oh oh oh oh we’re Forefield,
Oh oh oh oh oh,

We do our work, that’s been set for us,
Because we always try our best,
We won’t make a fuss, we’ll do just enough,
Our teachers are always PROUD of us!

We won’t give up, no we won’t give in,
Until we can see our friends again,
We’ll keep apart, follow a two-metre rule,
Until we are all back at school.

We won’t give up, no we won’t give in,
Until we can see our friends again,
We’ll keep apart, follow a two-metre rule,
Until we are all back at school.

These are strange times, things just aren’t the same,
Rainbows in windows and clapping again,
Thankyou NHS.

Oh oh oh oh oh we’re Forefield,
Oh oh oh oh oh we’re Forefield,
Oh oh oh oh oh we’re Forefield,
Oh oh oh oh oh,

Thankyou key workers.
